Zipit Wireless GovCloud
Zipit Wireless provides an Enterprise Critical Messaging Solution to enable a variety of industries to communicate securely and effectively to fulfill mission critical operational needs. The Zipit Wireless’ solution is deployed in a variety of vertical sectors including Defense, Government, Healthcare, Public Safety and Retail among other segments. Zipit Wireless has an aggressive growth and expansion program fueled by the increasing adoption of IOT technologies and the coming 5G wireless network. The Zipit Wireless messaging service includes several capabilities and features that make it a mission critical service in a variety of industries and use cases including hospital/healthcare “e-911” like communications; critical public safety and first responder communications needs and other commercial deployments such as retail.
In order to meet Zipit’s expansion into the US Federal and DOD marketplace, Zipit was seeking a FedRAMP Moderate level hosting environment within the AWS GovCloud Region. Zipit required a AWS Migration and Managed Services partner with the expertise and experience in hosting and supporting the AWS GovCloud based VPC in compliance with FedRAMP requirements. The Zipit Wireless team specified the requirement for an integrated implementation team that allowed for shared responsibilities between Zipit and stackArmor Engineers. The goal was to develop a flexible partner that allows them to implement a compliant solution that meets FedRAMP, DISA/DOD requirements.
stackArmor teamed up with the Zipit Wireless team to provide a responsive and effective solution working as “one” team to augment capabilities in the area of FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53 compliance. The ability to provide a flexible solution that had the ability to meet Zipit Wireless’ schedule, velocity and technical needs was critical to ensuring project success.
Specific areas of assistance provided included:
– Developing and providing a FedRAMP Moderate/IL-4 compliant AWS GovCloud architecture for Zipit Wireless
– Architecting and implementing NIST SP 800-53 compliant security controls for boundary protection, continuous monitoring and
– FedRAMP A&A documentation development for the SSP, POAM and ITCP documents towards obtaining the ATO
– stackArmor deployed a team of FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53 compliance subject matter experts, and
– stackArmor ThreatAlert Cloud GSS framework
